Dipanwita is a PhD candidate in Economics at ISER, where she is working on family formation and employment decisions among ethnic minority women in the UK. Her research interests lie in applied microeconomics and labour economics, with a focus on gender inequality in the labour market. In her thesis, she uses Understanding Society and other UK survey data to examine the origin and influence of gender role attitudes for women’s employment outcomes, especially for ethnic minority women who may face a double disadvantage due to gender and ethnicity
