Marie-Céline Schulte

Marie-Céline Schulte is a neuroepidemiologist whose research examines how exposure to violence and structural inequities across the life course shape mid-life brain health and risk of young-onset dementia. Using cohort data alongside neuroimaging and linked electronic health records, she applies causal inference methods to compare young-onset dementia risk between violence-exposed and unexposed populations. Her work integrates biosocial approaches to identify mechanisms linking violence and adversity to mid-life neurodegeneration and inform population dementia diagnosis, intervention, and care. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Population Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in the Child Protection Research Group and the Brain Health Group.
