Abstract

Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, allowing people and organisations to communicate easily and cheaply with potentially large audiences. How do you start a podcast? What equipment do you need? How do you find guests? How do you encourage them to contribute well? This short introduction to the Understanding Society podcast will look at how we started it up, the benefits of using an outside provider, and how to produce your own in-house podcasts. It will cover what we’ve learnt about the process, including editing software, hosting platforms, and more abstract issues such as the ‘feel’ you need.
