Ömer Sarıgül is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Surrey, currently in the completion phase of his doctoral research. His work is grounded in applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on causal analysis in education economics. His research explores how early-life conditions—such as maternal education and sibling dynamics—shape child development and long-term human capital outcomes.
Ömer holds an MRes in Economics from the University of Surrey (2021), an MSc in Economic Analysis from Corvinus University of Budapest (2020), and a BA in Capital Markets from Marmara University (2015).
His academic interests include education and labour economics, child development, and applied econometrics. He has served as a Teaching Assistant for courses such as Fundamentals of Blockchain, Intermediate Econometrics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and Economic Analysis with Matrices.
Alongside his doctoral work, Ömer actively engages in empirical research and data analysis, contributing to evidence-based discussions on early interventions and intergenerational mobility.
